35 years ago, I married by best friend and soul mate. We really didn’t plan to get married on my birthday, it just worked out that way. I do have to say though, it has been very easy for me to remember our anniversary.
This will be the sixth anniversary I have spent without my Angel Shannon. I think about the sadness of not being able to spend it with her. It reminds me how much we enjoyed this day together. But I have realized that this day isn’t a time for feelings of loss or sorrow. Today is a day for joy and celebration. Today I know she is busy helping our Heavenly Father with her new calling and responsibilities. It gives me immense pride to know I was married to such a sweet, special person.
This day also allows me to appreciate the love and support of my family and friends that are still here. It gives me a tremendous feeling of warmth and peace to have such wonderful people in my life.
So, I will keep this story short, but want everyone to know that your love and support is the best birthday/anniversary gift I could ever ask for. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
