This is going to be a shorter story than most. I was originally going to write about spending last weekend with my family, but after yesterday, I decided I needed to talk about the surprise birthday party for my Mother-In-Law Berna Deane Lusk. It was put together by Nicki Lish and some other great friends in Arimo.
It was at the park in Arimo, which is a block from the first house we lived in and the church where we first met. It brought back some great memories. There was a fantastic turn out which was not surprising. She has helped so many people in her community. I talked to one of Justin’s good friends and he told me there were more people there than there was at the ward party!
It was great catching up with old friends and letting them know about my Foundation. It was heartwarming to hear them talk about Shannon, and how special she was. It really took me back to when the boys were little. It’s hard to believe how fast time goes.
It was truly wonderful to see so many people take time out of their busy schedule to honor this wonderful lady. Everyone wanted her to know how much she means to them and how much they love her. I am so proud to be her Son-In-Law. One of the best parts of the day was talking to family members I hadn’t seen in a while. It was a tremendous feeling to talk about our Angel Shannon and how strong she was. It gave me so much strength to reconnect with them and feel the blessing of family. So, Happy Birthday Berna Deane. We wish you all the best. You deserve it!
I know this day put a big smile on my Angel Shannon’s face. I will always LOVE AND MISS YOU sweetheart.
