Happy Memorial Day 2021

Happy Memorial Day 2021

I want to start this week’s story by giving my total and complete respect and gratitude to all of the brave men and women who have served or are currently serving in our Armed Forces. I am so grateful for all their contributions and sacrifice. I am also humbled for the soldiers that have paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. My thoughts and prayers are with your families and loved ones.

We are living in a time where there are some strong divisions in our country. We have always had different viewpoints from various groups of people, but we were generally able to reach a compromise on most things. Now it just seems like some people want to argue just to argue. Then we have celebrities, talk show hosts, and professional athletes give us their opinions. I have seen countless headlines that are nothing more than an opinion of a celebrity or athlete. For some strange reason, some people have confused popularity with wisdom and expertise.

The point I am trying to make is we are allowed to have these disagreements and conversations because of the brave men and women that serve our country. We have that freedom and so much more because of the sacrifices they make every day for us. We have that liberty and independence because of the many soldiers that paid the ultimate price for us.

I believe there is one issue we should all agree on, and that is we owe so much to our soldiers and their families. I would like to see us spend more time doing what we can to repay them for all they do. I commend people like actor Gary Sinise that has dedicated so much time and money to help our heroic men and women. He has worked diligently to raise awareness. I would like to see more of the celebrities, talk show hosts, and professional athletes reach out as well. I think a good place to start would be to use some of their money to help the families that has someone who has paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

I love my country and all the freedoms I have. I hope you all have a safe and Happy Memorial Day. Thanks for reading.
