Graduation Season

Graduation Season

This week I was able to be part of a very special graduation ceremony. Kristi’s youngest son Carter and his wife Robin both received their Bachelor’s Degree from BYU Idaho. They both have put in a lot of hard work and thousands of hours studying to achieve this incredible goal and we are so very proud of them.

Both families met before the event for lunch, and we all had a great time catching up with each other. It was a great feeling for all of us to get together and talk about the different events that have been going on with each family. After lunch, we went to the campus for family pictures. We were able to get some great family pictures with both families before the ceremony. It was so enjoyable to see the big smiles and happiness on everyone’s face.

The event was held at the Conference Center on the BYU Idaho campus. It was the first time I had been to that section of the building, and it is remarkable. It is designed to be exactly like the General Conference Center in Salt Lake, only on a smaller scale. Everything was perfect for the graduation ceremony. The number of students graduating was staggering and very diverse. There were students from several different ethnicities and a very wide range of ages. It was very uplifting and inspirational to see what anyone can accomplish when they are dedicated to their ambitions and goals.

The speakers did a great job not only recognizing the hard work and sacrifice of the students but encouraging them to take their knowledge and talents to help others. They had a very strong message that as long as the students followed the example and promptings of our Heavenly Father they would be successful. There was a tremendous feeling of warmth and love in the entire building.

As I watched Carter and Robin walk across the stage, I was so proud of both of them, and it helped me realize that I can use their example to help me be successful in my new job. I can dedicate myself to accomplish the tasks I have been given and I can set higher goals for myself. I can also be successful if I follow the same examples of our Heavenly Father the speakers talked about.

I wish the best for all of you, and I know you will all be successful in the goals you have set for yourself. Thanks for reading.
